Born in Hungary, a country renowned for its rich cultural heritage, Kornélia Perchy was raised surrounded by fine music. A passionate interest for music and singing developed very early in Kornélia’s life. After formal studies at the Ferenc Liszt Music Academy’s Opera Faculty, the E`cole Normale de Musique de Paris and the prestigious G.Verdi Conservatorio di Milano Kornélia’s professional career was launched in 2002 when she was invited to join the Hungarian State Opera as one of its principal artists.

Whilst at the State Opera Kornélia’s talent and versatility have been acknowledged time and time again by audiences and critics alike. Much in demand in her native Hungary, Kornélia has nonetheless toured extensively both with the State Opera and as a solo performer.

In the relatively short time since Kornélia began to perform professionally there have been a number of memorable events including her participation in the BBC Cardiff Singer of the World, the Placido Domingo Competition in Tokyo and the great honour of singing a selection of Bartok’s songs for Her Majesty Queen Beatrix of The Netherlands on the occasion of the Royal visit to Hungary.
